Kathryn Rossiter from Becoming you asked me to take some portraits for her online profile. As a lifestyle blogger the aim was to capture her lifestyle as business woman and blogger through portraiture.
I arrived at her home in Kirstenhof and treated to a cup of Rooibos. Her house is a photographers dream as there is soft light spilling from all sides.
As alway we started just chatting having tea and she had to cope with me snapping away when she's telling me a story or the light is just perfect. Slowly the daunting Canon became part of our conversation and she became more comfortable by each shot.
Kathryn is a perfect example of how beautiful people become when they start letting their guard down. Then we moved to her favourite 'office' and again I was treated to amazing light, accompanied with a delicious coffee.
Thanks for sharing thoughts and allowing me to capture you.
I approached Kerry as I found her absolutely beautiful. She has a mature natural beauty which she carries with subtle elegance. It is as if she doen't know how beautiful she is.
I also offered to grab an image of her and her two beautiful girls, Carly and Erin. When I met the girls I knew a couple of portraits must be taken of these two as well.
The three woman were very comfortable in each other space and it was beautiful to see the relationship between mom and daughters and sisters. There was continuous support and encouragement.
Thanks girls, even though you're shy of the camera, you allowed me to 'see' and capture your beauty inside and out.
Alida is an accountant and polo enthusiast that makes her own skin products. I've known Alida for years, loosing contact, catching up again, but continuously in admiration of her positive heart, strong will and drive. So when she asked me to do her portraits I felt honoured. Because I know how shy Alida is, I understood what a big step this is for her.
And was I surprised! Alida still had the initial discomfort when you walk into a studio with lights and backdrops and big camera's, but as she stepped infant of the camera a confident, calm Alida looked back at me through the lens.
Thanks for the opportunity, Lida, my admiration has grown!
Dylan Miller is the founder of Strategies South Africa, a strategic marketing consultancy firm which provides business owners and entrepreneurs with advice, guidance and execution of marketing strategy planning.
I met Dylan at his office in Cape Town. The beautiful view of the city blew my breath away and convincing me that we just had to make use of that view for one of his portraits! He was only to happy to work with me to get the perfect light with no reflections accompanied with the perfect view.
Dylan was at ease from the word go, making jokes while we go and just making my job an absolute pleasure. Thanks Dylan!
Sarah Lamond is a freelance Marketing Specialist but a lovely energy, beautiful home and amazing hair!
Sarah invited me to her home to capture her in the comfort of her own space. This was a great idea as I was treated to beautiful soft light and a very relaxed Sarah.
We shared passions and stories afterward that left me inspired. It is lovely to have met you Sarah and happy to know you.
